Thing 1: That 1.8" of snow forecast for today? I just shoveled 6" of white stuff. I wonder what the other 4.2" was composed of, and how much money I might have been able to make from it before attracting the attention of the authorities.

Thing 2: Reminder to self: When one is overloaded with overdue tasks, it is wise and appropriate to avoid taking on additional tasks. Especially tasks that are voluntary in nature.

Link 1: Gold-plating the moon. Yet another reason why I love reading [livejournal.com profile] guppiecat's journal. Edited to add math correction link and additional details.

Link 2: Incendiary Blog Posting 101, with a tip o'the link hat to [livejournal.com profile] smofbabe. (There's lots to learn in the comments, too.)

Onward.

See, we're only supposed to get 1/2"...but the wind is another story. 40-43 mph gusts tonight, tomorrow, & tomorrow night. And cold. Did I mention chilly? Low tonight of 9°F...tomorrow night, they're now saying 2°F.

Happiness is a warm husband, an afghan, a comfy couch, and maybe cocoa. Gonna have to get me some o' dat.

Wasn't there a Minnesnowta joke about having to shovel "17 inches of partly cloudy"?

As good as that Incendiary Blog Post is, the comments section is even better. Hilarity ensues!

We've been getting consistently less snow than predicted. We could have had about 3", but got about 1/4" inch.

It's been pretty windy, and as we live near the top of a small whll, most of our snow blew away...except for a place on the driveway beside the house that had about 4" of snow. (well, all that snow had to go somewhere) I got that cleared off yesterday before the inevitable overnight freeze happened.
